Program Description
TANMS Research Experience for Teacher (RET) is a 6-week, full-time, research-based summer professional development program that provides hands-on, cross-disciplinary research experiences for high school teachers and community college professors. The RET program aims to:
Team teachers with a cohort of high school students to work alongside faculty and graduate student mentors in high-level engineering research
Build long-term partnerships with high schools through teacher participants to engender enthusiasm in STEM at the precollege level
Guide development of engineering-based curricula that will motivate students to pursue STEM careers, and tackle real world engineering problems in higher education and beyond
Eligibility
High school STEM teachers or community college professors
Must be U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
Must live within commuting distance to hosting campus (UCLA, CSUN, or UC Berkeley)
Duration
6 weeks (40 hours per week)
