Research Experience for Undergraduates

Program Description

The Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Program is a summer program designed to develop the skill sets of undergraduate students from non-TANMS universities and community colleges. Students will:
  • Work collaboratively with faculty, postdoc scholars & graduate student mentors on cutting-edge multiferroic technology
  • Obtain experience working in TANMS engineering testbed
  • Gain knowledge of Industry & Entre/Intrapreneurship
  • Develop skill conveying ideas to diverse audiences (e.g. researchers, venture capitalists, and recruiters)
  • Build an extensive academic and professional network
  • Participate in team-building exercises and fun activities with undergraduate peers

  • Must be U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Undergraduate students whose home institutions are not one of TANMS universities (UCLA, Cornell, CSUN, UC Berkeley, UT Dallas)*
  • Preference given to rising sophomores, juniors and seniors
  • Underrepresented Minorities (URMs) and Women encouraged to apply
* Preference in campus assignment will be considered but not guaranteed.

Participant Benefits
