Program Description
TANMS
Research Experience for Teacher (RET) is a 6-week, full-time, research-based summer professional development program that provides
hands-on, cross-disciplinary research experiences for high school teachers and community college professors. The RET program aims to: - Team teachers with a cohort of high school students to work alongside faculty and graduate student mentors in high-level engineering research
- Build long-term partnerships with high schools through teacher participants to engender enthusiasm in STEM at the precollege level
- Guide
development of engineering-based curricula that will motivate students to
pursue STEM careers, and tackle real world engineering problems in higher education
and beyond
Eligibility
- High school STEM teachers or community college professors
- Must be U.S. Citizen or permanent resident
- Must live within commuting distance to hosting campus (UCLA, CSUN, or UC Berkeley)
Duration
- 6 weeks (40 hours per week)
